Color – What’s Hot!

Neutrals with neutrals and pigments of the desert dominate the Fall and Winter seasons, stippled with shimmers of sun-bleached travertine, clay, azure and shades of cactus; they all hit center stage! We see muted tones such as desert sand and French vanilla infused with shades of cactus, melon, cameo pink and aquatic blue; we can’t lose! Spring and Summer 2006 bring us a muted pastel palate with carefree hues like lily green, clove, buttercup, blue bell, spearmint, rose and viola. And as always, Black still remains sexy … it is also stylish and timeless.

High fashion will be rich in whites, vanilla and cream! Also, look for some of these lovely combinations: desert sand and melon; French vanilla, lily green, melon and cameo pink; or aquatic blue, clove, and viola — just to name a few. Any color will do, as long as it's a warm hue and it flatters you. Pecan and shades of cactus are two of the easiest colors to wear and make a statement! So that's a great place to start. Get a head start on the new season with something sweet or daring to match your whites.

Also, try these great color combinations: melon, clove and desert sand; pecan, aquatic blue and viola; and clove and aquatic blue. Colors that complement rich brown tones are white, cream, lily green, khaki and denim.

Trends and Styles

The concept of trends in jewelry styles is nothing new. For thousands of years people have worn jewelry and have adorned themselves with the styles of the time and for their culture. In civilizations of long ago, for example, leaders wore gold and silver armbands, collars, and chains, while commoners wore clay, glass, and amber beads. Of interesting note, men were the first to wear jewelry as a status symbol and as good luck amulets to aid them in battle. Just a few decades ago, solid metal chains were all the rage in this country and in many other countries. Nowadays, the emphasis is on unique, eye-catching, free styles that suit the wearer. Today’s jewelry trend is to express yourself, to find something unusual that suits you, and to wear it with pizzazz.

Perhaps the best thing about the current jewelry styles is that they range from unpretentious and charming, to classy and elegant, all the way up to flamboyant and glitzy. With the incredible range of semi precious stones, gemstones, pearls, sterling silver, pearls, swarovski crystals, pendants, dichroic and glass beads, custom and unique jewelry, bracelets, necklaces, anklets, and wedding jewelry can be made especially for you. You now have a whole new palette of choices. Here you will see the finest handcrafted jewelry online.

Link necklaces and bracelets are layered and larger than ever. Big, bold semi precious stones and slabs and focal beads are very popular. Chain link necklaces interspersed with pearls or gemstones have a refreshing look. Layering is the look of the season and is achieved when complementary pendants, contrasting or similar in color, are worn together. Flowing chandelier earrings continue to be very popular as well as long dangles of gemstones. Filigree Metals, given life from its “Bohemian” predecessor, has settled into its own identity this Spring.
